Boise is the next Denver CO. Colorado is no longer cheap so people are looking elsewhere and Boise fits the bill
The south is cheaper and people are flocking to get lower costs of living. These 3 cities also have strong growth rates Charleston SC Raleigh NC Myrtle Beach NC/SC |
| I think Raleigh is already an "it" city. It's where I'm from and the growth is just crazy...to the point where the infrastructure just isn't there to keep up with it. |
|
I thought Asheville and Richmond were already hot, but they may be overrepresented in my social circles.
Agree with Pittsburgh, if it isn't already; great cultural scene, interesting historic areas, lower cost of living (though my relatives there say it's already been increasing a lot). |
| Baltimore, Detroit, Pittsburgh |
|
Boise, Sacramento, Tucson, Nashville, Oklahoma City
In additional to the others already mentioned |
| Nashville is already incredibly hot. |
|
Scottsdale, AZ
Phoenix, AZ Albuquerque, NM Providence, RI Richmond, VA |

LOL at everyone who named dead flyover hellholes that have eye-popping violent crime, double digit BILLIONS in infrastructure time bombs, polluted land, & eye-popping public retiree obligations.
The rich will get richer — already thriving coasts and sun belt are safest bets. Fact is nobody with talent wants to live in a cold flyover dump with high taxes and stupid people. |

Dallas
Salt Lake City Huntsville |
American cities are massive gang ridden hellholes in general compared to everywhere else in the civilized world. The only chance that coastal cities, and many other urban areas have, is gentrification. Until then only a few districts will be liveable, while it's Mogadishu for everyone else. |
Maybe cities like Milwaukee and Detroit should elect Democratic mayors. |
| Louisville, KY. |
I get a chuckle imagining someone who thinks of themselves as cosmopolitan writing something ignorant and outdated. Carry on, PP! |
“Give them space to destroy” Baltimore? I don’t think so. And Detroit? Maybe you’re talking about the next biggest cities in crime. Let’s add Camden, NJ to your list, shall we? |
| Detroit? I live in the area and it can be decent, but next hot city? We are too dependent on automotive and cannot attract college graduates from other states. |
