How many embryos would you transfer?

OP here: thanks again for all your replies - very helpful. I decided to transfer 3. Now I just hope one sticks!

At age 42- transferred 3 - one didn't take- one became a blighted ovum and had a healthy singleton.

This is too late to help you...but maybe something that can help ease your concerns...

I did 3 IVFs, transferred 6 (5 day) blasts EACH TIME.

3rd IVF was a FET...I think (and my RE thinks) that it was the FET that helped us in the long run. Meaning the high hormones of the IVF stim probably negatively impacted implantation...

BUT...

After 18 blasts transferred, total...I finally walked away with healthy b/g twins. And these were blasts, not day 3 embryos. So an even much bigger chance that they were something that could implant.

Final IVF, the eggs were retrieved one day before my 42 birthday.

Moral of the story...it is pretty tough at age 42 to become pregnant with a genetically healthy singleton, let alone multiples.

BTW, I was pg with 3, one naturally reduced...no heartbeat.
