We purged clothing and toys twice a year to make room for birthday and Christmas gifts. My daughter is a teen now and naturally sheds things that no longer work for her. |
Get rid = put in a box which you hide. Put a future date on it, like 6 months from now. If the toy hasn't been asked for, the box gets donated.
Be careful with collections. DD inherited DS trucks. She played with her family-of-trucks. You wouldn't want to break-up a family ... |
I grew up this way. It was fine when it was just me in the house, but it wasn’t fine when kids came over. I always felt bad bc no one could believe I had so few toys and they’d quickly be bored. Agree with PP who said you’re in the prime toy years stage. My youngest just turned 5 and we were able to purge so much of the baby/toddler stuff. Older kid stuff doesn’t take nearly as much space. |
