My kids look very similar. My niece and nephews, however, from BIL/SIL, are rather dissimilar and one of them in particular is incredibly handsome, while the others are average. He is the most confident young man, and also highly intelligent and capable. However he has little patience for the slow or less capable, so... we'll see how it plays out... They are in college/grad school now. |
I'd say I'm a pretty but standard plain Jane but I can definitely make myself look extraordinary enough to get whatever attention I want. I purposely dress down and don't invest in my looks because it's been a filter against really annoying events. I'm not saying it doesn't pay off to be beautiful on many levels but when it comes to choosing a man, having an automatic filter helps tremendously, and NOT being beautiful is a very good one. |
Will you still be bragging about how pretty your son is if he turns into a woman one day? Or will your daughter have worth then? |
OP. I am sorry you have received so many negative responses to your post. I know what you mean. I have b/g twins and from day 1, every stranger has been commenting on how handsome DS is. Never in a million years would I admit to anybody that DD is not pretty. But I wish that she had gotten the looks, because being a white male is privilege enough, whether DS is handsome or just average. I do remember how it stung when my neighbor said: "Oh boy, it will be hard for her to have such a handsome brother." Luckily they were both too little to understand anything. |
I’m not sure female appearance matters in this culture in the same way it does in your home country, OP. |
