I have 3 kids ages 2-10.
2 week overseas vacation in June Long weekend at beach 4th of July 4 weeks various camps 1 week lake house 1 week visit my family 1 week undecided |
Camps, travel, entertaining, day trips, tutoring for next year subjects, coaching and camps for EC activities, lots of swimming, volunteering for at least 80 hours, lots of sleepovers and movie marathons.
We combine foreign travel with mission work and blogging. |
We go swimming, on international vacations, and a lot of road trips, and trips to the beach. They don't attend camp. |
Kids are 9 & 5. We do one week of VBS; otherwise, no camps. They do swim team, and we travel for 1-2 weeks. Otherwise, we hike, take day trips, see friends, swim, go to the library, visit museums, hang out at home, etc. I don’t make a detailed daily schedule, but I do loosely plan out each week. Usually, each week (weekdays) involves:
Library x 1 Pool x 3-4 Day trip x 1 Smaller/half-day outing x 2 We make a big summer fun list and try to do things from that. We do library summer reading programs. We also have the kids work on some academic type stuff, like journal keeping, learning cursive, etc. |
My kids are same age as yours. We have 3 weeks off to do whatever- stay home, day trips, hikes, visit with friends and family. Then 3 weeks of camp midsummer- full day for older, half day for younger. Some extra weeks for younger for half days, 3x a wk, so I get some one on one time with the older (which is very rare). And then August we have a outdoor pool membership. You need some midsummer structure, otherwise you’ll go nuts. |
I am not technically a sahm but I do shift work and so does spouse so we only need childcare twice a week from 330-630.
Summer is 12 weeks long so we usually do 4-6 weeks of camp, used to be mix of half and full day, now DD is almost 7 they are all full day except for a Lego camp with is only 3 hours. I belong to a Moms group so do some stuff with them. We go on vacation for one week and just do local stuff. |
I have 3 under 3 so no camps yet but I hired a part time nanny and plan to do somewhat of a normal schedule (minus preschool), which includes a bigger outing in the morning like playgroup, appointments, the zoo, the pool, etc. Then something nearby and in the afternoon after nap, usually within walking distance or some type of shopping where I can keep them contained. |
I have a 3 year old DS (will be 4 this summer) and am due with #2 around Labor Day. I will probably sign him up for a few weeks of VBS this summer or the “camps” at our church (morning half days 9-1), mostly so I can more easily get to some doctor’s appointments. |
