Bump this up. Just curious how TAG kids are doing in GW during this DL. I have a fifth grader in TAG program now and wondering what the middle school experience will be to her if next school year still in this mess. Thanks.

My son is at GW and in TAG for reading and math. For reading, he has additional projects beyond what is assigned for his regular honors class. That's fine by us. Frankly, although he's smart, he's not super interested in language arts, and given his interest level, the amount of work assigned in his elementary school TAG language arts was beyond what he wanted to do, though he was certainly capable of it.

We are a bit disappointed in TAG for math. Currently, he is in Algebra, which does not have an honor option. He finds the class to be fairly easy. The TAG assignment he was given was reasonably interesting, but didn't really take much time or work.

My child is in TAG at Hammond and I've found the TAG program okay. The kids have extra projects to do in addition to their course work. It really depends on the teacher and how much they put into helping the TAG students and push them to do more advanced work. Some of the projects have a been good and some not so good. In an ideal world, the honors classes would be the TAG classes.

What's the best course of action if one does have a profoundly gifted child?
