Only going to watch it fir the shenanigans of the many identity caucauses. Lotsa RBFs
|
| I already know what he's going to say, so I don't see the point. "Everything is great, just like me. Anything that isn't great you can blame the democrats." |
And the Latinos! |
| I usually don’t watch it. Plus I have a college basketball game I want to watch instead at the same time. |
|
I hope the men and women of the House don’t make a show of solidarity by now attending, or by wearing a certain color. We know how they feel about him, and it will only serve to make them appear less willing to work on some sort of compromise. They shouldn’t be all about bowing to Trump’s whims, but they also shouldn’t be acting like they aren’t willing to hear anything he says. That will only serve to motivate Trump’s base.
This speech is pure theater, and has been done for a long, long time. They just need to attend, and not make a political stunt out of it. |
| Not attending * |

I wish we were more like English Parliament and the Dems could shout and boo him the whole time.
I forgot it was tonight. Dh told me first thing that he would not be watching but would tune in for Stacy Abrams. I married well! |
| Will not be watching any of it. Trump sounds barely literate and it's torture to watch him, even on news clips. |
Text Text “SOTU” to 50409 to get notified when Trump is done in case you want to know when Abrams starts... |
If it was like the Parliament it would be awesome. |
Thanks for the tip! |
If only your DH hadn’t married down to a woman who can’t spell. |
| Good 'ol Maxine Waters setting a good example of civic duty, telling people she hopes they'll turn off their TVs. I remember my dad making us watch the SOTU every year, regardless of who was in office, and encouraging us to take an active interest in politics. |
Your dad also made you support a total corrupt traitor? |
Excuse me? I'm a traitor for believing it's the right thing to do to listen to the POTUS make this speech each year? |
