Fairfax Clinic this weekend for 6-36mo and pregnant women

We will be going in the morning with our 14-month old. I'm just wondering what time to get there. I doubt we will be queuing up before 8:30 AM. I'm not that panicked about the situation!

Why don't people just go to PG County or DC, where the clinics have had much lower attendance? Are the suburbanites too scared?

It's the same vaccine and much less crowded. I don't get why people want to subject themselves to the madness.

better watch out----crazy lady from the other posts will say you are cheating the system. all children must remain in line at all times or forfeit their vaccination- ha!

The website said they don't have the preservative-free vaccine. I'm wondering whether I should hold off. I'm pregnant and DC is 1 but then again, if you delay, they may not have any left. The whole situation is frustrating.

Get ready for some unhappy people. Not saying what you're doing is wrong, but I bet others in line won't like it, even if you are 9 months pregnant.

I am not the poster who planned on doing this but I see NOTHING wrong with it - as long someone is in line, what is the problem? If I was in this lady's situation and anyone gave me a dirty look I would just tell them to kiss my fat ass! These people need to get a life.

What is wrong with this? We have ONE toddler that is getting a vaccine. One. I'm not, my husband isn't. Who cares who holds the spot in line?

The difference is this is a clinic FOR toddlers. It's not really optional whether or not you bring your toddler.

Not pp, but so what? Is a stroller really a MUST have for toddlers? Yes, I know it is easier, but a MUST HAVE? Don't think so.

Oh, so you're not even pregnant! Tisk-tisk. People are really not going to like this...

Will Fairfax have the single dose option for kids under 2?

If not, how is the fairfax shot any different from Arlington (where they would not give the shot to kids under 2 due to the risk)?

Just want to make sure I don't wait all that time in line if they don't even have the right shot!

So you need to bring EXTRA PEOPLE to help handle your child or children because you are not allowed to contain them in a stroller. Yeah, that is a policy that really helps cut down on congestion. What takes up more room and extra adult or a stroller? Or in my case another adult and two older children who cannot be left at home alone.

Well, you would think that a government building (the Taj Mahal of government buildings at that) would be ADA compliant.

No, it is not the mercury free one. Those are not available anywhere.

Good grief, people on this board will take a contrary position on anything, just to be contrary.

The clinic has 10,000 doses. That means they are probably expecting 10,000 people to receive the vaccine, possibly on saturday. Of those 10,000 people, many are going to be toddlers. So you are talking about what, a thousand families with toddlers trying to constrain them in a long line for a long time by bodily holding the kids/holding them by the hand? Would it really have been so hard for Fairfax County to use one of the zillion handicapped accessible buildings here in the county?

Sorry but the no stroller decision is just plain stupid. They should also implement no milk, no snacks, and no diaper changes on the premises while they are at it. Let's really have fun with this one....
