$400? Are you insane? And this woman was already in the neighborhood. Did you read the thread?

I’ll go in the middle- around $200. We are not in the days of people watering plants and checking mail for neighbors as a favor anymore. If you want to rely on this person next time, make it worth their while. It doesn’t matter that they were already in the neighborhood. She made 11 trips to your house.

We were asked to water plants feed birds and fish in pond for 2 weeks. It took about 1 and 1/2 hr per day to water. What would be a fair rate for 14 days?

We paid our plant waterer and cat feeder $10/day. He watered outside pots, scooped one scoop of food into our cat's bowl, and changed the cat's water. He's 13 and lives a couple of doors away.

I paid our neighbor $20 a day to water about 20 pots, bring in the mail, and feed our bird (and hang around the bird for about 15 minutes). She's a college student home on vacation. We were only gone for 5 days.

I would offer $150 to $200. She's a grown adult you trusted with this task.
if you were going to pay $100 you should have hired a student.

Its funny how people wants to get more and pay less. First of all If the oerson is a friend and lobes you he or she could do ot for nothing because you will return the favor the same way, but If you are talking about fairness. It depends on your states minimum wage and how many plants you are watering. For 11 trips $100 is low! Unless you are a teenager have nothing better to do. As for myself. I have to get between $25 to $35. If longer then i will consider discounting.

What would it cost you to replace all of the plants had they died. Less than that.

Damn. Sounds like a bunch of cheap
People on this thread. No way!! That barely pays her gas much less her time. At least 15 a trip.

How long would you say it took her a day? 30 minutes?

Did she do this during her work hours or before / after work?
