Does your 6-8 year old athletic boy wear tank tops?

My 7 year old has one friend that pretty much lives in tank tops. I don't buy them for my son -- who has never asked for them, btw, but even if he did I likely wouldn't because the extra shoulder protection from sun is key. As a kid I had blistered shoulders way too many times even with sunscreen; I want him protected!

My 7 yo son likes tank tops and sleeveless shirts when it's hot. He's super skinny so they look kind of funny IMO, but hey, if he likes them, it works for me. You can get under armour, Adidas, etc tanks/sleeveless shirts on Amazon for good prices.

I wouldn't worry too much of other boys are wearing them, no one really cares and it's hot out there in the summer!

I NEVER say this, but, tank tops on little boys do seem very lower class.

We have 2 or 3 tank tops that were hand me downs. My older son absolutely refused to wear them. My younger son LOVES them. FWIW, younger son wears as few clothes as possible in all circumstances. He sleeps in nothing but underwear. I have trouble getting him to keep a rash guard on at the pool/beach. One of his happiest days is the day in the spring when it becomes "shorts weather" -- and once it is shorts weather, he will not wear pants again until he has to in September/October.

My nephew wore tank tops when he was young. My DS has one basketball shirt he likes to wear when he goes to the beach or the pool. He’s 10. Other than that, he’s never worn anything sleeveless. His choice.

This one is cute and still protects shoulders: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B073D3LXJ4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526948225&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=adidas+tank+boy&dpPl=1&dpID=41Cr8Di-bKL&ref=plSrch

Honestly, judging what a 7 yo wears (trashy, really?) is super weird.

My kid likes them but I don't allow him to wear them because I'm concerned about sun protection.

He does were them as PJ tops, though.

Almost 7 yo twins. We tried tank style tops a few times. Neither will wear sleeveless tops. They also like the moisture-wicking style shirts for active play.

You just said it. Are $$$ homes in Great Falls where the lower class lives. According to you the answer would be yes

My 9 year old just asked for these and I was like "What? Boys wear those?" And the very next day we saw another boy wearing one. They are basically like basktball jerseys. I guess it's in now?

Wife beaters are a specific type of tank top...the white underwear type.

No. This is the classic "wife beater" shirt, on the original man (Marlon Brando in "A Streetcar Named Desire"

A logo tank top, like OP is describing, is this. There is a difference:
