restaurant rec needed for Charlottesville

Bumping to ask for a place for lunch during winter break. We will be adults and teens meeting up from different directions.

Do not know this town at all. Is there a downtown separate from UVA? People talk about a strip mall, which does not sound appealing.

Lol. The Downtown mall is nothing like a strip mall. The downtown mall is not on grounds but there is a free trolly that goes between them (it's not far). TONS of options. Until very recently, Charlottesville had the most restaurants per capita in the US.

There are several strip malls in the area.

Also agree. It is just a few blocks from the pedestrian mall.
