John McCain says Rand Paul is working for Putin

McCain is an angry man: the ultimate humiliation for him was when Trump won the presidency - something he could not do.

What McCain does not realize is that his maverick reputation does not play well with many voters.

He is an angry man, but that isn’t the worst thing in the world to be.

It would be pretty bad to spend your last few weeks or months on earth being angry and lashing out bitterly, though.

I have had a serious cancer, and I am not anywhere near the timeframe where it is “safe” to be optimistic about long term survival. If I can say one thing about the hell on earth that is cancer, it’s that it teaches you, if you will listen to it’s awful lesson, what’s worth your time.

I guess McCain thinks this is worth his time, his political statements and involvement. Is it? To me it would not be.
I think he thinks his political legacy is a duty to never quit, no matter how sick he gets.

I truly think it’s sad. He has to be extremely ill, extremely medicated, and probably closer to death every day. Does he feel desperate to keep doing the things he’s always done to keep a sense of normalcy and purpose? I’d think so.

But that will fall away. It just seems like you’d really want to be with your family. Whatever time you have pain free, or close to pain free.

Honestly I think that he’s just too sick to really make these statements and participate, and it’s his long time staff running the show. Medically speaking, he’s in a bad way. I really don’t think with the medication he’s got to be on, he really can think and process normally. It’s not criticism or attacking him, it’s just the horrible, horrific, dehumanizing process of his disease. He doesn’t deserve this kind of death, nobody does. I can’t imagine the pain his family is facing. Well, I sort of can...but dang.

He is going to take as many people out on his way out as he can-- apparently, without remorse, without conscience and without regard to the veracity of his statements. People die one of two ways--ask anyone who deals with the dying--they either make amends and leave with peace and grace, or they lash out anyone and everyone who they perceived have wronged them or gotten in their way. It is very sad, but it appears McCain is taking the second approach. Regretfully, the bitterness and hatefulness will be his final legacy and how he is ultimately remembered. It is a shame.

I’m pretty sure that McCain is in a better place, now and forever, than old Bone Spurs McRapey (of Ivana. Remember that story? Real class act.)

Cancer has a time of development. It’s only early 2018. There’s no doubt it was already there, working it’s evil.

Do you know how long it's been taking up space in his brain?

Great statement. I am the one saying it's the tumor talking because frankly? I like him regardless and feel he deserves our compassion.

The only shame is that he didn't say it earlier.

McCain's right in this instance. Why are some PPs disputing that? Lots of Republicans, including the President, have acted favorably for Putin, whether intentionally or not.

It doesn't make McCain right in EVERY instance.

My dear BIL died of a similar brain tumor. It affected his cognitive function thus: despite being told, he didn't acknowledge the gravity of his state, and wanted to get up and go out to eat even while in his hospital bed. He lost his filter toward the end and said certain things about certain women which were rather funny, but then he had always had a tendency to bad jokes. He didn't INVENT stuff.

Wow. Is it...normal, now, for actual non-Tea Party conservatives to hate John McCain?

Do some of you upthread hear yourselves?

Liberals have suddenly discovered that McCain has redeeming values ....... sort of how they discovered that Comey was a fine upstanding person after attacking him non-stop when he reopened the email investigation.

For a while they loved Corker and Sasse ...... they were even exalting Cavuto of ..... gasp ...... Fox News!

My mother had a brain tumor and she invented lots of stuff--and believed every word of it. She got mean and vindictive, too. So what's your point?

You’re dishonest and tiresome. McCain was buds with Jon Stewart since 2002, and enjoyed favorable bipartisan coverage for decades, up until he valorized Tea Party values by selecting Palin.

We can’t even have a conversation,’it seems. When did McCain become the enemy? Your enemy? Where is YOUR honor?

Well, if Songbird said it, it must be.... not really true.
