Do companies normally provide parking for the job interviewee?

IME, yes. But I would never, ever request it.

Have you tried driving by the place? There are usually visitor spots if the parking is restricted. Is this in the suburbs or city?

I've never had parking not covered. Flights, hotel, etc, depending on where the interview is. What kind of jobs are you applying for where they don't even cover parking? Seems strange.

What kind of job is this?? There are surely visitor spots available.

Have you only worked in private sector office parks? Curious what companies in Arlington/DC/Bethesda that pick up the tab for their employees.

When I was interviewing at some major hospitals in Boston, they validated my parking so it was free. Was a nice surprise but I'd never ask about it in advance.

Op, is there a shuttle you can take? I've had employee lots that were a hike from the hospital, but there was always a shuttle. There must be some way to access the company that does not involve a mile walk

If there is a garage attached, I would assume the front desk person would give you a validation.

I've always at least had parking validated without asking. Are you interviewing for doc review or a call center type job where you aren't considered human?

I tend to ask whomever I'm in contact with on logistics for suggestions/recommendations on transportation if it's not completely self-explanatory given location/website (I wouldn't ask if it's super obvious - or I'd say 'Your website suggests X, I want to make sure that's still valid given construction, etc). I do recall having parking reimbursed a few times, but generally it's pretty nominal.

+1. Out of all the interviews I've had over the years only ONE has offered to validate my parking. Just the cost of changing jobs OP.

Do not ask a prospective employer "how to get there."

Demonstrate that you are a competent adult focused on how you will contribute to the organization. Pay your own parking.

Don't let them think for a minute that you were devoting your attention to trivial, self-centered matters on that day.

Mine does not pay for parking in their Arlington/Bethesda locations.

I've never worked anywhere that had a parking lot. I've always just taken metro or taxied. I suppose I could have paid to park at the parking garages?
