What about you? Do you support giving permanent status and under what conditions?

Yes. And make them pay a fee that is used to improve border security.

Would this be part of the $495 fee they already pay or an additional fee?

Even if it's an additional fee, that's still far less compared to what they would have had to pay to become a citizen legally without the program.

Love it, keep moving the goalposts.

OP said there were three conditions. Those are already in place or in the bill. So now lets add more stuff. As it is, the DACA folks are accretive to our society from a cost standpoint.

I support giving DACA children amnesty as long as they agree to pay back what it cost for their dream, like I do with my student loans. Has one DACA adult ever agreed to pay anything back? (Taxes don’t count, we all pay taxes, so that’s not above and beyond)

False. Over 50% of American citizens want the dreamers gone. Vaya con dios!

I am very proud that 1 million people legally immigrate to America every year. I suggest that we focus on maintaining that 1 million number. So we can include DACA children in that 1 million this year, but that means that we need to greatly limit immigration elsewhere.

Link?

Because every reputable poll suggests support ranging from 70% to 85% in favor of DACA.

Five year renewable visas entitling them to stay and work. Renewal subject to not having a criminal record and not being a charge to the public.

If they serve in the military for a predetermined period they would receive permanent status and a pathway to citizenship.

You want people to be able to bring their kids but not their spouses?

There’s a reason you only make the rules in your internet fantasy, I suppose.

False. The N-400 costs $725. A green card costs $1085. DACA kids have to pay $495 every two years. All the money goes to fund USCIS.

I like that. In addition, any who dropped out of high school get a free ride home.

This is what some in the GOP want. It’s cruel and heartless. If they lose a job, they get deported? No efffing way that flies.

Except they are already home. The only home they know.

Nothing cruel about it. They are being given the right to work and stay but need to remain free of any criminal record. No automatic right to permanent residence or citizenship unless they serve in the military.
