What is the easiest way you have been able to lose weight?

No carbs. The dukan diet was the fastest I've ever lost weight. You have to stay on it quite a while though until your body is used to it or else you'll balloon the second you start in on carbs again.

I've given up sugar, white flour, and potatoes. I have cheated a couple of times and felt like crap afterward. I have a lot more weight to lose, but I feel like this is a healthy, sustainable way to do it.

I'd never heard of this but it's interesting - it's basically what I try to do what I'm eating well.

Cooking. Making 9 out of 10 meals.

Not a box of mac and cheese, but actually making a meal yourself from ingredients. No need to count any carbs, protein, fat, etc.

Just cook meals yourself. Easiest and most sustainable.

Eliminate breakfast

It feels healthy and it is easy to do and the kids are mostly on board with the meals I'm making. The addition of beans and nuts keep me from feeling deprived without a lot of carbs. I do not feel bloated or tired anymore.

Stopped drinking.

Basically Whole 30. Specifically: cut all dairy, gluten, soy, and alcohol. Once you get rid of those, sugar will naturally become way less of an issue. Add in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, plus frequent walk breaks if you otherwise would be sitting all day at work. Drink plenty of water and get enough sleep.

Seems easy - but why is it so hard.

I know! Damn simple carbs, damn you.

Ive been doing the whole 30 since Jan 1 and have lost 7 pounds so far.

Cut alcohol, eliminate all soda (even diet versions), and drink tons of water. No food after dinner. All snacks are fresh fruits and veggies--no chips, crackers, pretzels, etc.

The biggest thing though is no carbs without protein. I don't even have to eliminate carbs, but they must always be eaten with some protein. I dropped five pounds by doing this, making no other changes to my diet.

The common denominator in these responses is to get rid of simple carbs and added sugar.

Reduce carbs
Clean up diet
Drink more water...like a lot more
Get up and walk more or more active...or another exercise day.
Track your calories in an app like MFP
Try fitting in IF some days.

Good luck!

People who say this, how much do you usually drink when you're not on a diet? I barely drink during the week, and have about 2 glasses of wine both Fri and Sat nights. Will cutting that little alcohol actually make a difference?

Probably won't make much of a difference. Maybe cut back to 1 glass per night.
