I am in need of some serious help -- going nuts about bathing suit

i like the athleta one as well. i could have told you the miracle suit wouldn't work with that high neckline and C cup boobs. boatneck-style necklines rarely ever look right on people who aren't stick thin.

That's interesting. The blue-ish Miracle Suit arrived last night in a size 8. It was after i ordered the size 8 that I read that they run small and to order a size up. So a 10 is in the mail. Anyway, when I tried it on I liked it, except it was a little small in the armholes and the ass. I guess I'll wait and see how the others look.

And another thing: what is it about bathing suits that make us so crazy? Or that make me so crazy? Is it just that you're basically walking around in your underwear?

I've done my share of people-watching at the beach and at the pool. I think I'm more forgiving of others than I am of myself. I mean, I've never walked around someone a few times, very slowly, checking every inch of them out. I'd get slapped!

Sometimes I'll see a suit that looks hideous. Not often.

Remember what they did to Jennifer Love Hewitt??

And while I of course want to avoid looking granny or old-fashioned -- that concept changes for everyone. I thought the Speedos were the granniest of all of them.

Yes, I want my husband to think I look nice in a bathing suit. And I don't want anyone pointing me out to someone else to discuss how awful my suit looks.

But I think what is really freaking me out about this beach trip is that my parents will be there for part of the time. They are so critical of me and my appearance that I really think this is why I feel so much pressure. My mother especially has said some really mean things to me over the years. The last time she was here she pulled on my Lucky Brand jeans just to show me she could wear them!!

I don't know. I read about lots of moms on this board who are able to get their pre-baby shape back. But I think most of them are younger moms. I had my babies at 38 and 40, and I think it is much harder. I just don't think my belly is ever gonna be the same. Or my boobs. Legs & arms are fine. I think I could lose some weight and improve some, but I know my bikini days are over.

And did you know that Helen Miren actually looks good in a bikini??

I don't really like any of them. Have you been to the miracle suit website? They have tons of choices and most of them are not in the leas tbit old ladyish.

You know what my third grade teacher said to me? When you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

The blue speedo with the black bottom arrived today. Looks fab on me. Thanks for your good wishes.
