Live P.D. Why are some people blurred and others not?

This American Life did a really great segment on this (incredibly f-ed up) show. Yes, they blur the lines about live news coverage and they also target people who they know will make “good TV.”

I'll have to check this out. I used to hate-watch LivePD but now can't even stomach that.

They are always following the officers whose beat is in the poorer neighborhoods with known drug issues. So many, "know why I pulled you over this evening? Because that house you just left is a known drug house." And then the searching of the car happens and... drugs aren't found.

And yes, they definitely do target people. This YouTuber knew they'd be filming and set out to troll them. He painted 420 on his back window, dressed crazy, gave vague answers, and ended up getting arrested because even though he passed all of the field tests, the officer just KNEW he was on something.

They have stopped running live PD because of what is going on in our country with the bull crap of that floyd dude. This so out of control that at they would stop running a show because of what has happened to one individual. This is whats wrong with this country, let them cry and whine it is a great show as long as you give respect you will get respect.
People are not getting the hole story about these things and are only seeing the reactions of the cops and not what the guy did for them to do what they do. This is what is wrong with our media they only show the back half of the story but not what started the story to begin with.
