| The secret wife. It's fiction. I was riveted. |
I read this on vacation and it was a good, fast read. For something different - fun and satirical fiction - Crazy Rich Asians and the other two in the trilogy. |
|
Dead Wake. It's about the sinking of the Lusitania by Erik Larson. It's a thick, detailed read so it isn't a good choice if you need to watch kids in the ocean, for example.
I just read -- and LOVED -- The Summer Before the War. It's more historical fiction, but just a great book. Unorthodox is another idea. Autobiography. |
Also Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick. It's about North Korea. If you want some easy fiction, there's The Nest (Sweeney) or Eligible (Curtis Sittenfeld). |

American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld is fiction but is based on Laura Bush's life. I loved it.
I just finished Who Thought This Was a Good Idea by Alysaa Mastromonaco. It's about her years working for Obama. It's a fun read. I really loved Ask Me Why I Hurt by Randy Christensen. He's a doctor who opened a mobile clinic to serve the homeless youth population in Arizona. Another vote for Trevor Noah's memoir although I think it's better on audio. Hearing the stories in his voice is excellent. |
