| Today was a horrible first day to say the least. I registered my son for door to door pick up prior to school starting and received a confirmation email stating my registration was confirmed and that I would be receiving an invoice by 4pm Sept 3rd. I received my invoice, but no instructions on pick up or drop off times so referred to the schedule for my area on the shuttle website. At 545am this morning (the first day of school) I received a phone call from one of the drivers named Annette Figaroa stating that the drivers had been trying to contact me regarding pick up. She then states that my son needed to be ready in the next 20 min (which would have been 605am) despite the website posted schedule stating that he should picked up between 645 and 7am. After much back and forth about where he would be going and why it wasn't told to me until now, i decided to take him myself and discussed that he would still be picked up after school. The conversation made me very uneasy about afterschool pick up, so I called Annette and the facility multiple times throughout the day and got no anwer. I finally reached Annette about 2pm. She assured me that my son would be picked up and dropped off at home according to my paid service contract and what we discussed earlier in the day. My son called me after school stating he didnt see the bus so I instructed him to ask every driver if they were with the student shuttle and if his name was on their list. I stayed on the phone while he did so and no one said he was he was listed. I then called the main number and got the owner who stated that if a child doesn't ride in the morning then they aren't on the list for pick up in the evening, which is not written on the site or in their contract. Additionally he told me I should just be patient with them and that they could have someone to him by 4pm (he got out of school at 255pm). I expressed how upset I was with his service and he tried to tell me that I shouldn't have expected everything to be smooth because I just registered him and that they know the school like the back of their hand. Well I guess new families/ business isn't something this company wants. I paid for a service and |
The first and last time I used this service was 2014. Same issues as you described. So, four years later there are the same problems, excuses and defensiveness? Nothing has changed, nor will it. I would get out of that contract and choose another shuttle service. |
I am having a terrible experience as well! They seem to be extremely disorganized and it's almost seems like they are really in over their heads to be honest. It's very upsetting and makes me even rethink the school that I am sending my child too. I was also told one time for pick up and it has ended up being something totally different. School dismissed at 12:25 today but she did not get home until almost 4 hours later. They also took her to their aftercare program and did not even notify me. Based on their voicemail being full I'm guessing there are a lot of other unhappy parents as well. The owner told me the same thing so I am going to give them a month and pray things turn around. |
| I have had two horrid experiences with TheStudentShuttle in less than 2 weeks. Their service is horrible and inconsistent and their customer service is worse. Abysmal would be a compliment. I sincerely regret trusting these people with my child. I now realize the risk of harm I exposed my child to. Never again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!! |
| My sons first day of school was in terms of transportation. I registered my son for door to door pick up prior to school starting and received a confirmation email stating my registration was confirmed and that I would be receiving an invoice by 4pm Sept 3rd. Well I guess new families/ business isn't something this company wants. I paid for a service and didn't receive them, then the owners sends a condescending email about me registering days before school started. If i was able to register sooner I would have, but regardless if they couldn't take on an additional child close to the start of school they could've declined. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, THEY JUST WANT MONEY. My sons well being was the last thing on their minds because they got what they wanted. |
| I share the sentiment of many other posters, so I wont bother going into details. Long story short, do not use this service. The business is poorly run, inconsistent and unreliable. I honestly thought they were a small church based company interested in servicing the community providing affordable transportation and before/after care services to the community. I still want to believe this but some of the business practices are questionable to say the least. They seem to hide behind their not for profit status to justify their poor business practices. Unfortunately, they cannot be trusted. |
| I would like to hear from recent parents to see if the student shuttle service is an excellent service provider as well. I am thinking about signing my daughter up for their services. My only concern is if you are an excellent service provider you usually respond to email, text messages, and/or phone calls right away. Well, that's not the case with the student shuttle. The number that's listed states the mailbox is full and can not receive any new messages. Why place a sign in front of a school if you are not interested in obtaining additional services. I guess you can say I already made up my mind which direction I am going to go towards. |

I'm a previous poster who had good experience with door-to-door. That driver had to leave to care for a sick family member, and Student SHuttle left me high and dry. No replacement. No updates, nothing. Literally on a Wednesday I was just out of luck. I texted and called to ask about a replacement - nothing.
I don't blame my driver AT ALL - she was amazing and just had a change in life circumstances. But our life turned upside down because they couldn't replace her. |
| PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT use The Student Shuttle! We are having to take them to court to get our money back. We pre-paid for 2 months service, and then they cancelled, saying they couldn't find us a driver. It has been MONTHS, and they refuse to give our money back (over $1300). I have made repeated visits, emails, calls, and NOTHING. |
| Hello all. We have been considering using the student shuttle to have our child taken and brought back from school, but these reviews are giving me second thoughts. Is there any chance that things have changed since the last review? Thanks |
It's been a nightmare dealing with them. I guess it depends on the school too. My son goes to McNamara. |
| Thank you for replying. I guess I was hoping, since we're desperate to find some help with transportation. |
|
any alternatives?
