I never said my kid lied - but a young child's perspective on what happens is often different than what ACTUALLY happened. And I'm not OP so don't need to let shit go.

The school usually don't let the parents to go into the building. They let you wait in the front office when you go pick up your kids during the day. Only when you have an appointment with a teacher or staff and the people in the front office know you personally, you will be allowed to go inside either alone or escorted into the room. This is my experience in ES, MS, or HS in mcps. Child care may use the door on the side of the building so parents don't have to go through the front office.

If they know you have a child there, why wouldn't they let you in? What's to hide?

They're not going to let you roam the school and interrupt instruction. It's not about hiding.
