| I am 5'4" and about 125. I also eat the "volumetric" way (though I've never called it that, it's exactly what I do) but closer to 2000 calories per day. When I keep myself to 1500 calories, I lose weight fairly steadily but my energy level goes down and I don't do as well -- or have as much fun -- in my workouts (kickboxing, running, weight training, swimming). I think the weight training helps a lot. I've read that muscle mass increases your metabolism, so maybe that's how I'm able to sustain all those calories I'm eating. |
| I'm 5'4" and 126. I would lose weight eating only 1500 calories a day. I generally eat between 1800-2000. But I do exercise regularly, including strenuous exercise (running, spinning, weight lifting). I think if you're just doing some moderate walking a few times per week then you're probably not burning enough extra to increase your calories. |
| 5'8, 124 lbs, eat about 1800-2000 calories a day with one hour workouts 5x/wk. Vegetarian based diet (heavy veggies and nuts, no processed food, some seafood and yes, chocolate and wine!) |
