What do you wear in the sauna at your gym?

A towel seemed the norm at my gym orbiting, just a towel to sit on (the sauna was in the locker room so single sex)

I'm not afraid of artful nudity, but no one needs to see anyone's hot, sweaty genitals.

And wearing clothes seems gross with unnecessary moistness

You mean sweat? I love a great sweat. And my workout clothes wicks it away so I'm not drenched.

Steam room newbie. I walked in wearing my workout gear but could only stay for about five minutes. Rookie mistake.

Next time wore jog bra, thong, flip flops, with towel around my waist. I'm modest but comfortable. Teen DD wore one piece bathing suit.

Not being able to stay long probably had more to do with you being new to the steam room. I could only stay a short time when I first started and it's recommended that you ease into it.

Even after doing it for a few weeks, 20 minutes is my max and the last few minutes are uncomfortable.

along the same lines, I was at a mega-gym in Tysons the other day and they have a spa/Jacuzzi in the men's locker room. So after I did a swim workout, I hopped in for a few minutes. I was still wearing my swimsuit. It took about a minute to figure out that everyone else in there was not wearing anything. There were also a couple guys napping on the chaise lounges next to the spa. I guess as the newbie, I was the oddball. Next time, I still going to keep my suit on.

I was in the sauna at my gym last night - it is coed. First time that I went. Knowing it was coed, I was wearing a towel just to be modest (I'm man FWIW). Well, in walks the gym's yoga instructor - and I am not lying - wrapped in a towel. She proceeds to unwrap and lie down the bench across the corner from me and she is in nothig but her birthday suit. Needless to say, I was eyes full ahead. I kept my towel on until a few others came in and fully disrobed as well. When in Rome...

Wow, no way I would be okay with nude sauna.

Ours is same sex. I wrap in towel and sit on towel. Other ladies take theirs off. Doesn't bother me as long as they're discreet about it.

The gym rules prohibit the wearing of bathing suits in the sauna. Towels are allowed. I guess they have no problem with au naturel as well.

I lived in Europe and it was no swim suits rule too!
