cache of guns found near Fletcher's boathouse

It sounds like these weren't super criminals if they didn't hide the cache very well, but what the heck were they going to be used for?

I'm pretty sure they weren't hidden with the intent to specifically shoot me or anyone else I care about ... more likely to be some gangster vs. gangster stuff that doesn't affect me in the slightest. Sad and all, but not scary.

Actually there have been a number of cases where a person died and he widow/ family members dumped large numbers of guns in out of the way places to dispose of them.

Granted - Fletcher's boat house isn't out of the way bay any standard other than maybe DC's standard.

Recall also that the official report on Vince Foster's suicide indicated he brought 5 to 10 handguns with him to DC when he moved to Georgetown even though he knew they were totally illegal here.

huh?? I'm trying to understand how this statement ties in to/supports various reasons why there might be weapons stashed near Fletchers.

I'm sure that backgrounds are being run on the serial numbers of the guns, hopefully we'll hear more about this because this is a fascinating story.

It's not worrying because I am told guns don't kill people, people kill people, and there were no people found in the violin case.

I'm worried about the violin though. Bitterly cold to be without a case.
