Sorry, I'm not taking advice from LA wannabe DC frumpsters in their ugly booties pinching their cankles and shrink wrapped sausage thighs. |
then why are stores selling them again and magazines telling us they are "back"? |
You know what's in style? Wearing things that are flattering to your body and not chasing trends. My athletic soccer/runners thighs and I will continue to wear boot cut. But thanks for your $.02. |
Don't care what some internet random thinks. |
4'11" 118 lbs here and bootcut jeans look incredible on me. I wear them with my Chucks (Converse) and I give zero f*#ks as to what anyone on DCUM thinks as it's hardly a mecca for the stylish and fabulous. OP, wear them with whatever YOU feel looks best. And yes, they are indeed back in style, contrary to what the frumps here would have you think. |
Sneakers and wedges go best in my opinion. Ballet flats tend to get lost in the trouser leg. |
![]() These ladies look great. |
Because that is what 99.9% of woman in DC don't look like. |
Bingo. They look horrible, even on the skinny models/actresses someone posted. Skinny jeans look horrible on most normal people, as well. Straight leg, people. That's classic and what jeans are supposed to look like. |
No, no they don't |
Those ladies are all wearing flares, which are in... Bootcuts? Think the jury's still out on whether they are coming back 'round.
As for shoes, I'd say the one rule is a bit of height - wedge, heel, platform, whatever. That's the only way to get the one advantage of a flare/ bootcut, which is the leg elongation. With flats, you just look like you have stumpy Gumby-legs. |
![]() Yeah, okay, because this looks so much better. |
i wear dansko clogs with my boot cuts on casual errand running days. they look like boots but are soooo comfortable plus they give me some extra height |
