Seeking high school suggestion

The lunches may be OK ... but the school is certainly not known for its STEM offerings or music program.

They do have a theater program, but athletics (lacrosse, basketball, etc are kings at Prep)

It looks like prep has stronger math and computers than add. Not sure about science. Anybody here leave prep to Major in science at college?

Will do a drive by of gilman this week, thanks.
What about Loyola Blakefield? Is Gilman friendly? Any thoughts on Glenelg Country School?

The young men from Gilman I have met have been great kids, and their parents are friendly. I've been impressed by the variety of young men I've met. I expected a more stereotypical "man's man" and I've met musical boys, sporty boys, artsy boys, the whole range. Nice kids.

Prep is not known for STEM, but there is an active & growing robotics team and we know several boys who've gotten into good engineering programs.

St. Andrews in Delaware. All boarding. No day students. Small. Very strong academics. Great community. Great arts programs. Beautiful campus. Two hour drive from NW DC.

My son is a Freshman at Loyola Blakefield. I've been really impressed. They have a great robitics team and an engineering club. There is a Howard County bus that stops on Rt. 40 and St. Johns lane. The commute is about 40 minutes each way, but a lot of the boys use the bus time to complete homework.
