I liked her in her first couple of episodes but S5 young Smurf is making me miss Ellen Barkin. Leila George just doesn’t have it.
Funny how this is basically George’s first work an as actress despite being the child of two well known actors. I guess Sean Penn still has some clout.

I don’t like the time jumps but I think I have a theory why they put them in.

Was hoping they would show Deran with his former BF living happily.

I don't know...I think the time jumps were purposeful. The whole show is pretty much based on trauma from Smurf and what she did to them. Pope obviously suffered from mental illness along with years of his mother's abuse. The flashbacks showed this pretty well. They were all pawns and victims in Smurf's game of life.

And Pope had a redemption arc by letting Jay go.

And Jay now lives with the regret of screwing over the kids/uncles who were just as traumatized as he was.

Darren let the kid go. He wasn’t all bad.

Poor dumb Craig. So tall, so big, so buff. His naked body was the best.
