The registration fee ($800), student fee ($500) and early tuition payment plan of apr-jan got us really skeptical. Also, the fact that the withdrawal process is slim to none once you sign the contract. Admission Director stated that you will still be charged the tuition if you withdraw after 14 days.
Any comments?

I don't have any personal experience with this school but have read several reviews where this has been a concern. In my very limited contact with Holy Trinity they appeared to be all about money, money, money. Has anyone considered School of the Incarnation in Gambrills?

I have a friend with a kid at SOTI and they have been very pleased.

PP here. Thank you! I've registered my DC there for next year also.

My friend's child attends Excellence and they have been happy so far. She has been there for a few years.

We had a good experience with the summer school so I thought about registering for the year, but also was turned off by this. We decided on public and so far have been pleased.

That withdrawal policy is pretty typical for a private school. The Catholic parish schools don't have that (in my experience) but the high schools do and most of the other private schools.

Depending on your child's age, I'd check out Patuxent Montessori School. We've been there for a couple of years and our kids are doing well! They've also, tested well on IQ tests (FWIW).

How difficult is it to get into Holy Trinity or St. Pius in the 3rd or 4th grade? We are currently zoned to Whitehall Elementary School, we would like to do public schooling the first few years, but I'm concerned about doing public (in this case Samuel Ogle) for middle school and would likely switch to private.

Anyone have experience/insight into this?

Doesn't Excellence only have temporary accredidation? That concerns me. I was looking there because they have a later cutoff and my daughter misses the state cutoff by 2 days.

I have heard only great things about Holy Trinity, but they refuse to waive the cutoff until at least K. I was trying to get DD in their PK3.

Holy Trinity is not going to waive any age cutoff requirements. When I toured years ago, the staffperson made a point of telling me the school was instrumental in getting the K entrance age law changed. Now THAT turned me off to the school. Both of my children missed the K birthdate cutoff. They both took the early entrance test and passed it, and we kept it moving.

Has anyone moved from MoCo privates to PG private and can compare side by side with regards to diversity and cultural inclusiveness. To be totally honest, one draw would be more opportunities to socialize with other minority children. I'm sorry if that is politically incorrect, but we need to do this for the development of a healthy racial self-image. It's tough being the only child of color in your class.
