Blonde highlights out of style?

I thought a lot more people were getting balayage or at least a balayage-type look where the highlights start a lot lower and not at the crown of the head.

Yeah, and it's a lot more bronde than blonde.

I do a super platinum blonde and then let my roots show. My natural color is ash blonde. It's actually a really edgy look.

There is your answer - they are doing it in Baltimore so it's out. I am from Baltimore so can say this, hon.

Don't forget your spray tan and French manicure.

Yes I think they are out.

Agree! Dated look. It also makes women look older and trashy.

Some of us prefer our women older and trashy.

Blond out, ombré out, gray in. Check.

There are still plenty of blonde celebs--Blake Lively, Kate Hudson, Reese--so how out can they be?

Those women are blonde, not brunettes with blonde highlights.

Okay, now can someone post a pic of what is supposedly "out"? I'm having trouble picturing what people mean.

I hate the look where the highlights start too low...

And yet I still can't help but think about how much better they would look with a more natural hair color...

OK, but the blonde baylage page you posted is all blonde highlights on natural blondes.

The minute you start painting on the baylage caramel highlights on a medium-to-dark haired woman, IMO it's starting to look kinda yesterday.

The edgy platinum PP upthread is probably most current for a young demographic, and for the well-heeled professional set, I'm feeling glossy monochrome hair. No eye-catching color change at the tips.

They still have highlights.
