| It's call phubbing. |
| My husband is sitting here ignoring me while group chatting work friends and pretending to be working on his computer. I got him to look up and acknowledge me by texting him hello. We're in marriage counseling over this phone issue. I think he's not going to get it until I hand him divorce papers. |
I hope he dumps you and he finds someone who won't blow up his marriage over trivial shit. Screw you. |

No sorry, but I find it weird to be jealous of a piece of technology.
I say take a romantic weekend together somewhere where both of you are unplugged. Sometimes people don't realize how intrusive and stressful having to be "available" is. |
What percentage of the household bills does he pay compared to you? Details, please. |
| My DH complained about how much I look at my phone, too. I started leaving it upstairs while we watch TV in the evenings. Don't really miss it. My mom is constantly on her phone on FB or playing games, and it really limits how much attention she gives the rest of the family (my dad in particular, who wouldn't know an iPhone from a block of wood). If you watch a movie with her, she's on the phone the whole time. She has sounds and ringtones turned on and gets push notifications for everything. I realized I couldn't complain about her without being a hypocrite so I really tried to think about how often I'm less engaged with my family because I'm looking at my phone...it was a lot. |
That's ironic considering cell phone addicts dont mind being constantly available to the people texting them. |
This. I don't carry my phone around with me when I'm at home. I leave it in the kitchen or on my bedside table charging. The only time I keep it with me is when DW is not home in case there is an emergency or a question regarding the errand she's running, etc. |
That is ridiculous, go out and enjoy life. Push notifications kill your battery (but I suspect she has her phone charged in the outlet all the time) and it is much easier to use FB, send e-mail, and other things on a PC anyway. |
I see you fail to understand the difference between personal and professional communication. |
