Need to become less of a Frumpy Mom more of a Cool Mom

If you're not sure what looks good on you anymore, ask a friend who always looks good (we all have one of those) to come shopping with you. Very likely, she (or he) will be flattered. Ask her to be brutally frank with you and to help pick out some stuff that's flattering. I do this for my husband, who could care less about clothes, and who had a horrible wardrobe when I met him. He hates to shop, so once or twice a year I take him out to a couple of stores and outfit him with work clothes and jeans for the year. The key is to find someone who's not going to try and make you into something you're not: if you're the natural, outdoorsy type, work with it!

Great topic, OP! I am 8 months pg with my first and am going to be a SAHM. Obviously I do not feel very attractive right now. Even before I was pg, I was a convenience/comfort dresser so I'm worried how much worse I'm going to get after the baby!

One thing I will say is that you need to be REALLY honest with yourself about what you are truly going to wear. For me, dry clean stuff is out. I just can't/won't do it. Same thing with stuff that HAS to be ironed. It just sits there on the hanger wrinkled. Nicely cut, well-fitting t-shirts are a must. I have a bunch from LL Bean and Lands End. Make sure you search for the ones that are form-fitted. Don't worry - they are not "tight" or I wouldn't wear them. Good jeans are a must, but I don't think they need to be expensive. I have gotten lucky at Target/Old Navy or Gap on sale. I spend more on purses/shoes for this reason. You wear them A LOT more often than one particular shirt or bottom. My favorite shoes I might wear 4-5x per week! And my purse I use every day, so its worth the investment to get what you love.

Good luck and you are not alone!
