Two sons and two daughters. Making the jump from a boy taking a dare from his friends to rape is ridiculous. Sexual assault? Really? That's wonderful to put on the girl, she was sexually assaulted because someone touched her butt. |
You are one scary person....and yes, I do have a son and a daughter |
no words. You're crazy. |
| Holy shit. The stuff in middle school and junior high was nothing. Wait until shes a young lady and attracting male attention from all sides. Empower her, don't make her a victim. |
Agreed, but this is the mentality today. Both drunk? He raped her. So lets start our little girls young with the victim mentality. Thats some feminism right there. |
I'm not OP- what in the world do you mean by this? |
| The more i think about I think this is an offshoot from American puritanical standards...it is so ironic that feminists are now the ones enforcing sexual mores like victorian grandmothers. Now our children can be sex offenders too. |
| Do you know what happens on a middle school bus every single day? Actions by boys and girls alike. |
Did you not go to middle school? |
No, I mean what are you suggesting OP do/not do? What do you mean by "empower her?" |
It's such an awful mentality |
|
Um... it's not ok for a 12 year old boy to randomly slap the ass of a girl he barely knows. Wtf is wrong with you people?
I would call the principal. The kid should get a talking to. -NP |
Not the PP, but OP could teach her daughter to loudly say, I don't appreciate that! I will be letting the principle and your parents know about this. Or fend off and block the guy. Or hit him. There are some really bad people in the world. I was walking in Spain when a group of migrant workers came up to me and a gang of them accosted me and assaulted me touching me through my clothes. I fended them off by knocking them off. OP's daughter should figure out how to defend herself and stand up for herself, and assess the situation instead of immediately involving the police. |
| Sheesh, adult or not, boy or girl, you don't brush off some random person slapping you on the butt. This kid does need a stern talking to at minimum so he doesn't think he's entitled to slap people (anywhere) just because he feels like it. And the OPs daughter does need some strategies for responding to this kind of behavior. |
|
Why is this ENTIRE thread about how the OP feels? Was the daughter upset by it? Did she think it was funny? She is the one who matters.
FWIW I think this is way to puritanical. A smack on the butt is not the same thing as groping. |
