Just did a Whitney playlist on Spotify to clean house today.

I remember she was a very popular model in Seventeen magazine when I was a teen and I always admired her "look." Then when she came out with her first album... wow! I agree, it's sad.

I also knew her first as a 17 model. Was surprised and blown away by her singing. She projected so wholesome, especially in the early years. It is hard to grasp she was into drugs even then.

Blame her brother. He got her addicted to drugs long before Bobby entered the picture

Was she really? I didn't know that. She really seemed to have the world at her feet at that time. Just an amazing talent.

Bobby Brown said in an interview after her death that Whitney introduced him to drugs. I am usually a skeptic and no fan of Bobby Brown but I actually believed him when he said it.

I had heard that, too.

I was never a Whitney Houston fan and then I heard her sing 'I Love The Lord' while I was driving. Didn't even know it was her. Blew me away!

Wow, that is news to me. For years I have thought of Bobby Brown as scum because of what he did to Whitney Houston. I remember this one SNL performance, I think she's singing All the Man that I Need, and it's amazing of course, but what I noticed the most was the way the backup singers looked at her with such admiration.

For the people who are looking at this thread like "Wha?" I assume that you are under 30 and you can assume that we are over 40.
