Just did a Whitney playlist on Spotify to clean house today. |
I also knew her first as a 17 model. Was surprised and blown away by her singing. She projected so wholesome, especially in the early years. It is hard to grasp she was into drugs even then. |
Was this your thread too, OP?

I have her on my playlist. I miss her too. |
Blame her brother. He got her addicted to drugs long before Bobby entered the picture |
Was she really? I didn't know that. She really seemed to have the world at her feet at that time. Just an amazing talent. |
Bobby Brown said in an interview after her death that Whitney introduced him to drugs. I am usually a skeptic and no fan of Bobby Brown but I actually believed him when he said it. |
I had heard that, too. |
I was never a Whitney Houston fan and then I heard her sing 'I Love The Lord' while I was driving. Didn't even know it was her. Blew me away! |
Wow, that is news to me. For years I have thought of Bobby Brown as scum because of what he did to Whitney Houston. I remember this one SNL performance, I think she's singing All the Man that I Need, and it's amazing of course, but what I noticed the most was the way the backup singers looked at her with such admiration. For the people who are looking at this thread like "Wha?" I assume that you are under 30 and you can assume that we are over 40. ![]() |
