Love it! I bought her CD years ago. I was surprised that she never took off. I liked quite a few of the songs.

+1000 for Anna Begins. Also indigo Girls - Romeo and Juliet. Am I dating myself to the mid-90s or what?

+1000 more for Anna Begins.

LOVE this thread.

I don't know either of those Counting Crows songs, but I do like Murder of One.

Music is so powerful emotionally. +100 to many songs on this thread. Adding With or Without You by U2, Thunder Road by Bruce, At Last by Etta James, Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits, Every Breath You Take by the Police and ... In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel (what respectable woman in her 40s would not feel something when hearing that song).

There's a piece of the With or Without You melody that is ripped off (perhaps subconsciously, perhaps not) from Heroin by Lou Reed.

Speaking of which, Heroin by Lou Reed. Also Rock n Roll, Sweet Jane, and Dirty Blvd.
Saturday Night('s Alright for Fighting) by Elton John
I Shall Be Released by The Band
Paradise City by Guns n Roses

BTW, my apology to the poster on the other thread, for dissing Orinoco Flow. You're right, that was uncalled for.

Yep.

Neko Case's soaring voice often brings me to tears. Maybe Sparrow is a beautiful song. Also Cat Power, The Greatest. Both of those songs break me up.
