Recommend paint color for dark basement?

I do not recommend white -- it will make the basement seem very cold and stark.

Our basement has one small partial window, and we painted the room a soft taupe. It made a huge difference in making the space 'warmer' and more interesting, while not significantly darkening it.

OP here, thanks for the recommendations! Feel free to keep the inspiration coming, I'm heading to the paint store for samples this weekend!

White. The trick is to use texture in the furniture, wall decor, etc. (otherwise it may indeed look too cold).

We are going through the same process of choosing a paint color for our small, dark basement.

We have samples on the wall for Sherwin Williams Bridal Rose, Dreamy White and Smart White. We don't love any of them yet, but we'll see how they look tomorrow.

We would like something warm, which leaves out most of the blue-toned colors we like.

We don't want taupe or cream.

Floors are brown and beige tile (ugly).

Would RH's Silver Sage work, you think? Or a similar, lightened version?
