Speaking of Rachel, why didn't they just kill her off? I'm a little hazy on her plot line, so I'm sure a reason was given not to get rid of her.

I think it's because she is the only hope of bringing Frank down. There's no other ways into the Russo story.

Yep. Plus, Stamper was trusted to "handle" her and he developed feelings for her.

I would also think that her murder might make things messier than they needed to be.

I agree with the bolded. I, too, thought the bag-on-head would set up something for letter, but no. Same with the threesome. It added nothing to the plot or character development, really.

Agree about the bag on head, but I think the threesome/handoff was important. it really confirmed the nature of their marriage that was hinted at when Frank went back to his old school. It is completely a marriage of ambition. And Claire is starting to crack from the loneliness.

Also agree about the bag on the head scene. Really? Was that necessary?

I think Claire is going to end up in a situation to out-maneuver Frank. I think Frank goes down and Claire ends up victorious.

It seemed possible because she did visit that doctor earlier. I think she was toying with the idea but the second visit was definitely just to get more info on the fertility medicine to blackmail the other woman.

There seems to be a lot of symbolism in the 2nd season. the FU cufflinks were an invitation? Claire on the rowing machine like Frank used to do...she has turned into an evil person like Frank....
