DH and I love this show! |
Fortunately, I'm choosing to break the cycle of shitty-absentee-parenting induced evil rage by having my preschooler watch with me. |
Yes - the music!! Everything is just awesome |

So what do you guys think is the deal with the present-day detectives asking all these questions? They ask the Woody Harrelson character a lot about Rustin Cohle, but not vice versa. |
What is the matter with you? Grow up. |
I think they suspect Cohle in the present-day murder, and maybe the old ones too. |
+1 |
That's how it would be on network tv, or in a lazy blockbuster movie that's really just an excuse to showcase Will smith. Too obvious, too neat. Something more complex is underway here. |
I'm drawn to this because I need a break from my daughter's Caillou obsession and I frankly want to kill that bald-headed Canadian kid. So, you're half right. |
They're implying something about Harrelson's character too, though - he talks a big talk about what a great family man he was and we see his affair, his rage, and he didn't appear to be wearing a wedding ring in those last interview scenes. |
Totally agree with this. |
I don't think they are implying anything. His marriage is clearly over. |
I LOVE this show. Every detail so authentic (though why do the wives/girlfriends look like supermodels? Don't know why that irked me a bit). |
They want the viewers to believe this...but this is HBO so you can be there will be a good quality twist. I think Harrelson and Cohle had a falling out as partners (maybe b/c Harrelson's character accused Cohle of the crimes and that divided them??) and now the present-day detectives are trying to, hopefully, bring them back together to solve the murders. Agree with all the above posters that this is such a good show. Like they say, there are shows and then there is HBO. |
