Lifetime Fitness in Reston

Ignoring the price, I'd consider Dulles as the best Lifetime, Centerville # 2, Reston #3, and FFX #4.

Reston should not by any stretch be considered "diamond". The facility is nice (same as Dulles) but the programs and management are not even equal.

They will never get full until they "get it".

I'm a member at the Dulles Lifetime and with that have access to Reston. I pay $160/mo including my 2 children and spouse.

I've been at Lifftime since 2009 and I have NEVER had someone approach me to sell me anything. If I wanted to buy something I would simply talk to a trainer. I love all their free classes. I do not pay for personal training and have never been offered it.

I use Reston on my lunch hour and find the facilities incredible. However, I'm inclined to have an expensive gym membership, since between my DH and I we are at the gym 10xs a week-plus we take the kids on weekends. I also have signed the kids up for free Rock Climbing and Sports Clinics.

We were at Dulles since it opened. We loved it. We switched to Reston since it's blocks from where we lived and justified the additional cost in savings on toll roads. We are also gym rats and are comfortable with a premium membership though I do feel like it's overpriced.

With Dulles as your home club, if I understand the rules they put in place this weekend, your kids are no longer welcome at Reston. At a club twice as expensive as any other in the area, that sucks.

Lukily I never had to take my kids to Reston, as I only use Reston on lunch.

I could bring my kids to Reston if I paid the WHOPPING $40/mo per child...NO THANK YOU. Not worth it. I also agree, the classes at Reston are sparse.

I honestly think if Dulles gets as expensive as Reston I'll move to Ashburn Golds which is really not a huge downgrade in amenities, but a steep drop in price.

I didn't want to respond until I was 100% sure I didn't misunderstand. I double checked and in fact, there is no child care, only academy classes. If you are a member at another club your kids are not welcome. Sucks, but turns out I do know what I'm talking about.

They now allow nonreston members drop their kids off. $20 per visit..... Classes not included.

They don't want the people from other clubs there. They needed to open it up a bit so it lost the ghost town feel and they are now trying to wean them off. Most of the Reston folks that transferred got their old rates back.

Most of the staff I've talked to know they blew it by overpricing but say they can't figure out how to walk it back.

They're trying to recover and hold the prices. They're now offering $500 worth of freebees to new members. It's a nice facility, I hope they survive, but it's not looking good....

They will figure it out. They just have to bring prices in line with other clubs, such as Worlgate.
