I think you didn't understand me. I just would like pp to elaborate on "Edith's daughter." I only watched the first 2 or 3 episodes and I don't mind the spoiling - I actually like it.

I think you didn't understand me. I just would like pp to elaborate on "Edith's daughter." I only watched the first 2 or 3 episodes and I don't mind the spoiling - I actually like it.

Edith got pregnant after a one night stand with the guy before he left for Germany. He left before she knew she was pregnant. She was going to have an abortion ....... actually went to a back-alley type of doctor and then changed her mind. She ended up having the baby on the QT in the Continent unbeknownst to most of the family. She ostensibly went there to improve her French. The baby was put up for "adoption" with a family there - could have been a German family based on the name.

The final episode has her having second thoughts and planning on bringing the baby back and having it raised by a tenant farmer on the estate. Only a couple of people know about all this within the family and even her own parents don't.

It's his old buddy from when he was a song and dance man. Pre-butler days. The guy didn't really play an important role earlier in the story, so not sure why they brought back the character.

Seriously? The title could not have been more clear. Entire 4th season: obviously lots of spoilers. If you don't want spoilers, stay off the internet or at the very least don't click on threads that will - quite obviously - spoil the season for you. Good riddance.
