Last minute Thanksgiving Dinner?

Piles of sage at whole foods mid day today - both loose bundles and the little plastic boxes of fresh herbs.

Thanks! Will try tonight!

I'd probably send DH out to get a last minute pie because I love pie on Thanksgiving, and maybe some sparking cider for a festive touch, but otherwise would just cook up some mashed potatoes, one veggie dish, turkey, and some cranberry bread.

Last year, I initially had trouble finding any fresh (i.e., non-frozen) turkeys the day before Thanksgiving, but later saw hundreds at Whole Foods, along with anything else I could need.

What also helped was a random stranger at Trader Joes who saw me struggling with a cart, two kids, and a pregnant belly in the rain today and without even asking, loaded all my groceries into the car while I strapped in my kids and then said he'd return the cart for me.

This was really sweet.

It must be the season. I was struggling at the food court with several trays of food and two kids by myself, and a gentleman with a lot of bling on helped me to my table. That was so great.

.

At the Whole Foods in Arlington they had some kind of planter thing by the front door that was "Thanksgiving in a planter" It had all the herbs, including sage. Looked kind of cute. (there is a slim chance it was the TJ's in Clarendon, as I did both of them on Saturday afternoon, but I'm reasonably sure it was Whole Foods).
