| fwiw, I'm a woman, and I'd leave it out (if it were an afternoon shopping trip, and we were eating it in a couple hours) Seems a waste of energy to cool it off artificially only to have to heat it up again almost immediately. Seems like that can't be good for the taste, either. |
| I faced this dilemma earlier this week. I bought a chicken around 2 pm for dinner around 6 pm. I decided to wrap it in foil and put it in my crock pot on the "warm" setting. The chicken was hot but still moist when we ate it. |

the microwave works like a cooler also retains the heat.
i do a lot of cooking for groups and use the microwave and coolers all the time to keep things warm. |
