Even Emeril makes one...

| Your Mother Will Mind A Lot If You Do (Eat It). |
| Exactly pp -- that's a walking taco. A frito pie generally uses the fritos to make a crust and then piles on stuff on top in layers -- meat, cheese, oninion, sauce, avacados, black beans, corn, etc. |
| One chip, two chip, cheese and bean dip |
| Must be a regional thing, I've never heard of a "walking taco". I've had plenty of Frito Pies served in bags with chile beans (pinto), cheese and onion. |
Spent years in Texas growing up and this is how Frito Pie is served at church fairs, picnics, and camp. Putting it in the Frito bag makes it easy to eat while walking around, sitting on grass, etc. |
OP here-thanks for all of the ideas. We do have a group of the girls working on a name too. I have seen Frito pie made both ways. I think any variation that involves Frito corn chips with chili on top counts. I know it isn't the healtiest. But it is one meal and I checked the registration list and Larla isn't coming

| In CA we call them pepper bellies |

In my Texas /New Mexico days I always saw frito pie made that way (but with decent chili with beans).
And I loved the Larla comment -- even if Larla was there, she would love frito pie and shock her mama all the way to the Mexican border when she asked her mama to make it at home. |
I like this one!!! |
You're welcome. I'm a huge Dr. Seuss fan and have been since I was a little kid. I wrote an answering machine message Dr. Seuss style that I've had for 20 years. 11 years ago, I had to modify it when I married and my wife moved in. I've gotten used to the fact that we always have dead messages on the machine because we still get several calls a week where people just call to listen to the answering machine message. |
Definitely the winner! So cute! |
