But I am proud of the fact that the Bullets changed their name. As for every 20 years, thats the only name change I can recall in my lifetime and it was a lot longer than 20 years ago.

I don't think the intent is to bring contempt or disrepute to American Indians. Jets being named the NY Guidos? Fighting Irish or Drunken Irish Dying of Famine and Oppression? ? Highlanders or defeated subjugated by British? Perhaps keep the logo and call it the Lobbyists or the Earmarks.

Many sports teams use names that depict brave people who were subjugated .... I think the whole spots thing is stupid and silly anyway. Now that my children are older we don't buy that crap. I think all teams should be like the Packers - i think are owned by the town. Are they called packers because they worked ion nt he meat packing or slaughterhouses?
