tell me to shut the hell up and be grateful for my stupid job

I got laid off 9 months ago from my firm job and am still looking. Please quit so I can have your job, because being a SAHM is boring as shit.

Another option, OP, would be to go back to work full time, but work from home 2 days a week. Is this an option at your agency? It is at mine, and I love it. The 2 days I work from home (we have an au pair) I can take my twins out, run errands, etc., and put in the time more flexibly during the day. If you do this, you will still have a flexible schedule, and you would probably have better work assignments. It's something to consider.

Yes, hang in there, OP. I would like to quit my job and take a pay cut to go work in the non-profit world but my brother just broke his back and my sister and I are supporting him financially. If you have a well-paying job that you don't absolutely hate, don't quit. You never know when you will need that extra money.

I'm in a similar position to OP, except that I am at work 5 days a week and do not get to see my child 2 days a week like OP. I wish I could work part time but that is currently not an option in my agency. My child is 2 and won't go to preschool until 4 because his birthday is late in the year. I'm wishing to SAHM, but also scared of leaving in this economy. Shut the hell up and be grateful for my job?
