What are you making for a not-so-formal Christmas dinner?

We also re-do thanksgiving exactly for Christmas. It was only recently I realized that everyone doesn't do that!

We do fondue, just the cheese and chocolate courses. I don't like the typical fondue cheese, so I make a Monterey jack beer cheese fondue.

I was going to make ham again this year, but the timing isn't going to work out. Perhaps I will return to the beef stew in the crockpot of years past. And do a fancy dessert.

We are doing cheese and chocolate fondue too, and other apps, for Christmas dinner. But doing a huge brunch.

Since it's just the four of us for Christmas dinner we do fondue. Cheese with mini hot dogs, bread and veggies; then chocolate - with antyhing they want (i love to see how long it takes the kids to remember that last year they dipped the chocolate santa in

i always do salmon, roasted vegetables, some green veggie, some sort of bean/couscous salad, a really good salad and a really good bread....

Probably will be doing some sort of baked manicotti or stuffed shells, salad and crusty bread. Sparkling cider for the kids and wine for the adults.

And those crackers -- the kind you pull apart with the prize inside -- just for fun!

My family always does seafood chowder for Christmas Eve but that could also be served on Christmas. We serve it with good crusty bread and a salad.

Haha...we've done it the other way. My wife grew up with fondue for Christmas, but we prefer the broth fondue. So I make a very flavorful homemade chicken soup (although some years, for some guests, I've made vegan vegetable stock). We have beef, chicken, shrimp and salmon, and a selection of veggies. I get about 15 sauces and we dip. Some dinner rolls round out the menu. I save the stock when done. The next day, I reheat, add some small pasta, some leftover veggies and made some bite-sized pieces of one of the proteins and make soup. The soup is so rich and tasty.
