Teaching licensure?

There is also Western Governors University ... I had a friend who was doing this but yes it does eventually require student teaching. It is an accredited school.

Check out GW as well. I know several colleagues who did their post-bac or masters there in teaching. They all say it is a very strong education program.

Good luck!

If you are planning on a career in teaching, stay far away from TFA, DC fellows and any other alternative program. They are all inadequate in terms of pedagogical preparation and, by definition, do not aim to prepare career teachers. The TFA website is pretty clear on this.

GMU's career switcher program is a good one and sounds like it would suit your needs.

Best of luck.

A friend of mine in MD both finished her college degree and teaching credential online thru U. of Phoenix (I don't even know if they are in business anymore). Hope that's helpful.

Thank you for these suggestions, I am looking at all of them right now. I am interested in both Western Governors and GMU... an ESL program could be a good fit for me, too. Thanks, if you have any more suggestions or BTDT experience, please keep sharing. This is all so new to me.
