Definitely hunger games or game of thrones for page turners. Also rules of civility by Amor towles. Great book. |
OP here. Thanks guys!
I just downloaded Cider House Rules for $7. I never saw the movie. I already read Gone Girl (LOVED it) and Defending Jacob, ROOM (hated it), Hunger Games. I got samples of Unbroken, and Between two Oceans but i can't seem to get into either of them. I already downloaded Devil in the White City (same author as In the Garden of the Beasts) and The Book Theif, but can't get into those either. I guess they'll do if the power is out. I'm into thrillers and mysteries. I loved all the Gillian Flynn books. |
The Night Circus, Attachments by Rainbow Rowell and On the Ialand. None have anything in common, but all very good! |
PP who read Wild: I came across that but didn't think much of it. You'd recommend? |
If you need a really easy but good read, I'm currently on Emily Giffin's latest. Probably qualifies as chick lit, but I love her books. |
Orange is the New Black. Fascinating. |
Just read this and thought it was okay but not great. |
Book Thief was great on tape |
Louise Penny mysteries |
This was a great book! |
The thing I really liked about it was that this woman was woefully ignorant about what she would be facing, and ill-prepared, but just kept plugging along. If you like true adventure type books you will probably like it. She includes a lot of anecdotes about her (tough) earlier life, and that makes her journey feel like a catharsis. |
I liked "When it happens to you."( By Molly Ringwald!)
Reminded me of "Olive Kitteridge." Another good one. Also recommend: The Playdate (suspense) Trashy but quite enjoyable! The Adults Firefly Lane Tumbleweeds |
