So where is Rockville do you go for good Chinese?

Yuan Fu, of course. Vegetarian Chinese, that is.

Does anyone know how to contact the owners -- a name or e-mail address -- at least to say THANK YOU and WE MISS YOU? I'm heartbroken at what feels like a personal loss and want to express gratitude for so many years of fine food service.

I'd love to know how to get in touch with the owners as well. We loved the restaurant, too, and miss it a lot!

I just saw a sign saying the space is for lease. I thought they were tearing down the strip mall and that's why The Veggie Garden closed.

You could try this e-mail to get in touch with the owners. I'm not sure how current it is.

Has anyone heard any more about Vegetable Garden since the flurry of e-mails in August and September? Someone told me that the chef had transfered to Yuan Fu. Is this true?

Ize 's owner said they have a lease through 2015 or 2016, I can't remember exactly, but I guess the strip mall may remain for a few more years. Also said VG closed due to a lease dispute.

Just noticed that Vegetable Garden is selling some of their entrees at My Organic Market ... Curry Supreme and a few others. This is at the Howard County location. I bet they're doing the same at the Rockville MOMs.

I am so sad I just can't believe they are no longer in business it was an excellent organic vegetarian restaurant Honestly god I will miss them....

I was told by a staff member at Mom's Grocery store that the rent was raised. This person also said that VG is looking for another site. Vegetable Garden still supplies Mom's, TPSS and Glut with meals sold in their stores. Have to say did go to Yuan Fu and the food there is every bit as good as Vegetable Garden.

If you want real Chinese food you go to New Kam Fong in Wheaton. This place used to be in Chinatown and moved to this stie about 4/5 years ago. It received a great review from T. Sietsma so we went and the food is very good. Real Chinese! Most times my husband and I are the only patrons that are not Chinese. That is definitely a good sign when shopping around for ethnic restaurants.

Yes, but truly real Chinese food isn't going to be vegetarian.
