You may feel differently if you are a Governer. I can't imagine being able to take that much time off, and newborns need to nurse. No one can see in the sling, and no one would really know if she were nursing or not.

I think you are judgemental and have no basis to say what you are saying. Everyone's circumstances are different.

For me, Sarah Palin is an incredible role model, inspiration and example to me.

My husband and I both strive together to be great parents and great at our careers. Our kids do well at school, are loving and loved by their peers and teachers. So far, so good.

On breastfeeding: I pumped for 6 months for my first child and breastfed (no pumping) my second for 15 months. Again, every circumstance is different.

We do not have enough role models who take on the challenges to which we aspire, so it is wonderful to see the Palin family!

OP here, please refer to my 2nd post. It might clue you in a little more to what exactly my "basis" is.

I think it's completely unfair to conclude she's a terrible mother since her teenage daughter is pregnant.. This could be ANY of us- advance many years if our kids are younger.. or our kids may get an abortion and we'd never know. I was best friends with someone in junior high who moved to another area in the dc area and ended up getting pregnant during high school and getting married. That is how things were where she moved- it just wasn't viewed as odd. I'm not saying that's a reason- but - just because if you happen to be one of the ones whose kid didn't get preggo- have sex or get an abortion- it doesn't mean that could not have happened to you. What I'm hearing about now as teens and sex is utterly scary and I so hope my child isn't a part of it.. but do I know for sure no matter how best buddies I ma, can talk about anything , try to teach her about sex?? i don't know- a teen is an individual.. with a very strong willed opinion..

Not PP, but I read your 2nd post. I see no basis for your statements. You are really out there. Many people pump only for various reasons. I know of someone right now who does not feed from her breasts but pumps for her 5 month old.

OP here, yes they took the bait beautifully. Some thought me serious, especially the poster who outlined her 4 points alledging that Palin did not even nurse and was a terrible mom for taking her baby to the RNC, continuing the attack. And that poster was serious! I just wanted to see how truly nuts people are here on DCUM.

He uses a man-boob cast from real breasts (but not Palin's). He fills the man-boobs with moose milk, thus all the pics of Palin kneeling by the mama mooses. She is pumping THEIR milk for Trig. DUH. Hey OP - you should'v criticized Palin's hair-do instead of Palin's preference to BF/pump. There was a whole article on Drudge Report about how it is 20 years out of style and it would be a much more interesting post.

A better thing to bash her about if you are still looking for nit-picking and have nothing better to do is to talk about Palin's eye glasses - apparently similar models are selling like hot cakes.
