14 yo; 14k, but DH and I started saving late, and have enough income to pay college out of cash flow (realize that could change) and are trying to do catch up as fast as we can. Just wanted to float some low #s so people realize not everyone is on the ball

Thank you. These posting were getting me stressed out. We are doing out best, but haven't saved that much yet. |

3 yo, about 20k.
7 mo old, about 3k. |

5 yo -- 30k
2.5 yo -- 6k |

6 yo 120K
3 yo 60K Just kidding ... This is stressing me out! We have 20K in one. Why have 2? Any extra in 529 for #1 can be used for #2, |

DD 8 mos.
Have zero. Want to buy a home first. |
| I'm stressed out reading these responses. I thought we were doing good with having a 22 mo old and $4200 saved. We don't make that much ($150HHI). |
|
Don't have one. DS is a genius and will get a full ride.
|
| Does anyone have a usaa 529? That's the one we use and I heard it is not tax deductible?? |
I guess it's inertia. Started with CA... Was thinking of moving to VEST actually. |

pp here
VEST fees seem really high http://www.virginia529.com/documents/vest/fees/va529_vest_fees.pdf I think all things being equal, the College America load upfront is ok. Much lower fees on the back end. |
| We have a 5 yo and have zero saved for her so far. |
I have 4 different 529's for 2 kids, as I get different management and options...one is TrowePrice, one is Vanguard etc I have maybe 90k for the 14 yo and the same for the 11 yo, even though I started saving later for the younger one; different portfolios give different results |

6 year old--$80K.
Newborn--will be starting soon, but cutting down part of the 6 year old's contributions. We use a Vanguard-managed 529. |
