Wow! Why so harsh? She just asked a simple question! Someone so confident in their own opinions such as yourself sure made a point of making sure that was evident, and that others were not as secure as you! Her post did not "get a rise" out of me, but yours did. Ease up. |
Super tacky. |
It's not as tacky as the incredibly mean responses on this website. |
op here. no my post was not intended to get a rise out of anyone. i truly am curious and not sure what i think. i lied in my original post. i actually already bought the shoes and now that i have them i am wondering if the huge logo with the name on them is tacky. not a huge crisis here in the midst of things. its just that they came in the mail today. i ordered them online from neiman. thanks for the responses! |
OH, snap! |
You know why I'm not impressed by logos-
Because I shop in Ross and Marshall's and know that you can buy logo-items for super-cheap! Trying to make the "high end" names accessible to all, I suppose! |
OP - can you link a picture of the shoes so we can see them before responding? |
It really depends - I think there are a ton of clothing and accesory items out there that are absolutely garish, but extremely popular. Some have logos, some don't. I personally am not a fan of logo items because many of them are down right ugly. But - I have seen some tasteful logo items out there, too. I'm sure the shoes are classy and as long as your outfit is tasteful, then the logo adds a nice touch.
I am also surprised by some of the mean comments. Why is it so wrong to ask for others' opinions? Isn't that what this website is all about? |
I LOVE my LV bag ...... but that is the only "logo on the outside" piece I own...... |
tackola!! |
jealous |
When I went to the event at the "second-tier" private school for parents of accepted students, every single mom had a Coach bag and every dad had a blackberry. So I figure that if I want to apply to GDS in the future, I should save up for a LV bag and wear it casually yet prominently at the interview - it couldn't hurt!
I hardly call a logo item "low-class" considering some cost well over $500. I think some of the Coach and Tori Burch shoes are cute, but can't afford them. Some logo items are ugly, but then there are tons of non-logo items that are ugly too, especially almost anything by Juicy - who buys that crap besides uber-rich teenagers? |
Ah, I dont think anyone at GDS is going to be impressed by an LV bag. Do you GET what kind of school GDS is? As a matter of fact, no decent private school is going to be impressed by anything you wear or carry so I am guessing you were being sarcastic/funny and I missed it. ![]() p.s. lots of moms have blackberrys, too, like me! |
Um, me? I'm wearing Juicy terrycloth pants right now . . .
Like so many other things, it depends on how you wear the stuff and how you carry yourself generally. A tastefully pulled together outfit won't be ruined by a logo bag or shoes, nor will a designer bag or shoes rescue a bad outfit. |
juicy = majorly overpriced for what look like pajamas |
